VATTI Smart Oxygen Range Hood V998
V998
A hidden hood: 136mm deep at the front, so it sits flush inside a wall cabinet instead of hanging out of it, and the kitchen reads as joinery. Behind that panel is the strongest pairing in the slim range, 2,850 m³/h against 1,250 Pa at 49 dB, taking smoke from above and from the side at once. A PM2.5 sensor decides when it has finished, and the wash cycle runs steam and hot water together. 898mm wide.

Detail

12.6 cm of panel
The body is 136mm deep at the front, so it sits flush into a wall cabinet instead of hanging out of it. No exposed pipe, nothing to duck under, and the cabinet above it keeps its shelf.

Flat into any cabinet run
Because nothing protrudes, the hood follows the line of the cabinets rather than interrupting it. That is the whole argument for a hidden hood: the kitchen reads as joinery, not as appliances.

2,850 m³/h at 1,250 Pa
Top-side dual suction with a 2+2 four-way exhaust: the intake is taken from above and from the side at once, and the smoke is caught at the pan rather than after it has risen.

A wide screen over the smoke
The smoke control screen runs the width of the hob and opens at 31°, which holds a pocket of low pressure over the pan. Smoke is locked in rather than pushed out at the sides.

Why the screen is wide, not narrow
A wide screen sits lower and holds a larger area of negative pressure, so nothing escapes at the edges. A narrow screen has to sit higher and pulls harder through a smaller mouth, which is what lets smoke slip out at the sides.

It starts when the hob does
Light the hob and the hood starts extracting by itself, so the first minute of smoke is caught rather than missed. Available with selected VATTI hobs.

It measures what it has missed
A PM2.5 sensor watches the room, not the clock: the fan keeps running while there are still particles to catch, and stops when the reading comes down. VATTI calls the logic VNIA.

Baby skin touch glass
AG matte glass across the front: fingerprint and smudge resistant, and smooth enough that a wipe takes the oil off rather than moving it around.

Five layers, not one sheet
The panel is built up rather than cut from plate glass.
- Explosion-proof protection layer
- High-temperature oil layer, which loosens stubborn oil
- Acid-resistant layer against corrosion from cooking fumes
- Enhanced AG matte glass, resistant to cuts and scratches
- Nanometre oil-repellent surface

Steam and hot water together
The fifth-generation wash runs a heating pump: high-temperature steam dissolves the grease while a paddle brush scrubs the blades and the cavity. VATTI measures the cleaned area at up to 99.1%, against under 50% for a plain water wash.

Oil-repellent guide plate
Enamelled, so one wipe takes the residue off rather than smearing it.

Nothing to remove
No mesh filter to lift out, soak and refit. There is nothing to take down at all.

An oil cup you empty less
Larger than the one it replaces, so it is emptied less often.

The panel tells you where you are
PM2.5 reading, extraction state and fan step, all on one readout, with soft LED light thrown down onto the hob.

Questions about the V998
- What size is the VATTI V998?
- 898 mm wide, 320 mm deep including the mats behind it, and 911 mm tall with the chimney. The front panel is only 136 mm deep, which is the 12.6 cm the slim series is named for. Built into a cabinet it needs an 898 mm opening with a removable shelf above.
- How high should the V998 be installed above the hob?
- 420 to 460 mm from the hob surface to the bottom of the hood, which puts the bottom 1,270 to 1,310 mm off the floor over a standard 850 mm cabinet.
- What ducting does the V998 need?
- A 7 inch run. The outlet is 235 mm across and the hose is 180 mm inside, 185 mm outside. The wall or ceiling hole sits 2,430 to 2,470 mm off the floor, back to back or to the side, with at least 120 mm of clearance from the telescopic pipe to the ceiling. Keep the centre of the nearest burner within 280 mm of the wall.
- Does a slim hood actually pull as hard as a full one?
- This one does: 2,850 m³/h against 1,250 Pa of static pressure, which is more pressure than most full-size hoods in the range. The suction is taken from the top and the side at once, so the thin front is a packaging decision rather than a compromise on the fan.
- How is the V998 cleaned?
- Steam and hot water together, driven by a heating pump, with a paddle brush scrubbing the blades and cavity: VATTI measures the cleaned area at up to 99.1% against under 50% for a plain water wash. There is no mesh filter to take down, the guide plate is enamelled so one wipe clears it, and 92% of the oil is separated before it reaches the motor.
- Does the V998 link to the hob?
- With selected VATTI hobs, yes: lighting the hob starts the extraction by itself. On any other hob it runs from the panel or the hand sensor.
- What warranty does the V998 carry?
- Two years on the hood and ten years on the motor, for the original buyer, bought from an authorised dealer. Register it at VATTI eWarranty at the time of purchase: a claim needs the registration to be complete.
- How much is the V998 and where can I buy it?
- VATTI Malaysia does not sell online. The V998 goes through authorised dealers, who quote their own installed price against the ducting your kitchen needs. Find the nearest one in the dealer directory, or send us your kitchen layout and we will point you at the one that stocks it.
