Three dishes at once

Three burners rather than two, which is the difference between cooking a meal and cooking it in shifts: a powerful stir-fry, a slow braise and a medium stew all going together.

6 kW across the three

The most output of any VATTI hob, spread across three burners so the big one can take a wok while the others hold a simmer.

A 99 minute timer

Set a burner and leave it: the hob counts down and turns the fire off, which is what makes an unattended braise a reasonable thing to start.

A 1,059 g pan support

Heavy, and shaped to do two jobs: the widened shield keeps the wind off so the flame stays stable, and it protects the knobs from spillage while gathering heat back toward the pan.

Six things that make it safe

The labels on the shield are the six: an energy-gathering pan support, a child-safe push-type rotary ignition, a three-layer explosion-proof tempered glass panel, an X-shaped non-slip pot support, thermocouple flameout protection that shuts the gas off, and pulse electronic ignition. Tested through hot and cold shock, gravity shock and violent shock.

What cut-out does the C830G need?

VATTI publishes neither a drawing nor a specification panel for this model, so we have not put a figure on the page. It is a three-burner hob and therefore wider than the two-burner models; have your dealer measure the opening before ordering. The C823G and C836G both state their ranges outright.

Is three burners better than two?

For a household that cooks several dishes at once, yes: 6 kW across three means a wok, a braise and a stew at the same time instead of in sequence. For a small kitchen, the counter space a third burner takes is the cost of it.

How safe is it to leave running?

Thermocouple flameout protection cuts the gas if a flame goes out; the ignition is push-type rotary, which is child-resistant; the glass is three-layer tempered and explosion-proof; and the 99 minute timer turns the burner off if you forget it. VATTI tests the assembly through hot and cold shock, gravity shock and violent shock.

What warranty does the C830G carry?

Two years on the hob and a lifetime warranty on the glass top, for the original buyer from an authorised dealer. Register it at VATTI eWarranty at the time of purchase.
