VATTI Hidden Series Range Hood V938

V938

The hood for the kitchen that does not want one: the body sits inside the cabinet run at 325mm deep and only the front edge shows. Behind it is the hardest-pulling pair VATTI sells, 3,650 m³/h against 1,600 Pa, held at 48 dB by a 3.2 kg BLDC inverter motor. It reads the duct and sets its own extraction, it purifies on standby, and the wash cycle runs steam and hot water together.

Detail

The V938 with its front panel open over mist
The V938 concealed in a cabinet run above a hob, its depth marked

Half hidden, and that is the point

The body sits inside the cabinet run and only the front shows, so the wall above the hob reads as joinery rather than as an appliance. 325mm of slim depth, with 105mm of opening clearance when it runs.

The V938 clearing smoke from a wok in an open kitchen

3,650 m³/h against 1,600 Pa

The most of both in the range. High airflow moves the air in an open kitchen; 1,600 Pa of static pressure is what gets it down a long shared duct on a high floor, and this is the model to reach for when that duct is the problem.

Cutaway of the V938 BLDC inverter motor

BLDC inverter motor

A 490 W motor with a 3.2 kg solid core, turning at 2,000 rpm and rated past 30,000 hours. The weight is the point: mass is what keeps a fast motor from vibrating itself loud.

Smoke pulled vertically off a wok into the V938

Vertical capture, at the pan

The intake pulls straight down over the hob rather than across it, so fumes are taken at the source: from a high-heat stir-fry to a slow simmer, nothing is left to drift into the room.

The V938 intake seen from below over two pots

Capture ratio 1:5:1

Three intake zones, a wide one between two narrow ones. The wide zone holds the pressure over the pan and the narrow ones close the sides, which is where smoke escapes on a single-cavity hood.

A quiet kitchen with the V938 running at 47 dB

47 dB, and it decides for itself

Smart sensing reads the resistance of the duct and sets extraction to match, so it is not running at full tilt to overcome a run that does not need it. No manual adjustment, and no smoke overflow either.

A hand waved under the V938 to change mode

Wave, do not touch

Gesture sensing switches modes with a wave, so the controls stay clean and nothing has to be hunted for with a hand full of pan.

The V938 extracting as a burner is lit beneath it

It starts and stops on its own

Ignition triggers extraction. When cooking ends, the airflow carries on to clear what is left, then powers down by itself after three minutes.

The V938 purifying a kitchen with no pan on the hob

It keeps working when you are not cooking

On standby it samples the air and ventilates in real time: formaldehyde, ammonia, nitrogen oxides, benzene, carbon monoxide, alcohol and odours. A kitchen is the room that collects all of them.

The V938 floating display lit along the front edge

The display tells you the air

Air quality and running state on one crystal readout, with a colour band for the reading: red for poor air on high-speed extraction, through to blue on standby.

The V938 impeller in the middle of a steam and water wash

Steam and hot water, together

The fifth-generation cycle cleans the fan and the inner chamber, not just the blades: steam dissolves the grease and hot water flushes it away. VATTI measures 99.1% coverage, 99.2% deep clean and 99.99% sterilisation.

Questions about the V938

How is the V938 hidden, exactly?
The body is 325 mm deep and sits inside the wall cabinet, so from the room you see the front panel and nothing else. When it runs the front drops 105 mm to open the intake. It can also be fitted semi-integrated or standalone if the cabinetry is not there.
How high should the V938 be installed above the hob?
600 to 650 mm from the hob surface to the bottom of the hood, which puts the bottom 1,450 to 1,500 mm off the floor over a standard 850 mm cabinet.
What ducting does the V938 need?
A 7 inch run, with the wall or ceiling hole about 2,380 mm off the floor, back to back or to the side. Given 1,600 Pa of static pressure, this is the model that copes best with a long or bent run.
Is the V938 the strongest hood VATTI Malaysia sells?
Yes, on both numbers that matter: 3,650 m³/h of airflow and 1,600 Pa of static pressure, at 48 dB. The next strongest is the V929 at 3,125 m³/h and 1,300 Pa.
How is the V938 cleaned?
A fifth-generation cycle that runs steam and hot water together, cleaning the inner chamber as well as the fan: VATTI measures 99.1% coverage, 99.2% deep clean and 99.99% sterilisation. Grease separation is 92% and odour reduction 97%.
What can the V938 do by itself?
It starts when the hob is lit and shuts down three minutes after cooking ends. It reads the resistance of the duct and sets extraction to match. On standby it samples the air and ventilates when it needs to. It also takes commands from the app, and from a wave of the hand.
What warranty does the V938 carry?
Two years on the hood and ten years on the motor, for the original buyer, bought from an authorised dealer. Register it at VATTI eWarranty at the time of purchase: a claim needs the registration to be complete.
How much is the V938 and where can I buy it?
VATTI Malaysia does not sell online. The V938 goes through authorised dealers, who quote their own installed price against the cabinetry and ducting your kitchen needs. Find the nearest one in the dealer directory, or send us your kitchen layout and we will point you at the one that stocks it.
